Matamoras Fire Department, proudly protects 2300 people living in a area of 1 square mile. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. Matamoras Fire Department is an all Volunteer Department, on the Banks of the Delaware River, in Pike County, Pa. and as such we have one of the area's water rescue teams. It is comprised of a Dive Master, Asst. Dive master who oversee a crew of 10-12 divers, who are first responder and CPR trained to facilitate the rescue of unwary canoeists on the Delaware River, which is visited by thousands earch year. We also respond to water rescues anywhere we are called to in ajoining counties. We are now certified in Rope Rescue Repelling.
